Solange

Seeing someone smile who was initially scared, angry or hurt — that's what fills my cup.

I enjoy gardening, listening to music, reading books that expand the mind, learning about geopolitics, and bushwalking. Although a novice, I'm also enjoying learning the guitar. My main values are honesty, authenticity, respect, understanding and open-mindedness. I believe having these values, along with empathy and compassion, creates genuine connections and a safe place — allowing people to open up and be vulnerable.

I have been working with people experiencing physical and psychological injuries for approximately 28 years. The majority of cases I managed were challenging and always involved supporting vulnerable people. My ability to adapt how I communicate allows me to overcome barriers and build rapport — people would often say they felt heard and understood. I have a degree in psychology, an HR diploma and a Life Coach diploma.

My desire to make a positive change in the lives of others has always been secondary to my primary professional roles — but it was the one thing that gave me fulfilment. I now wish to make it my primary work. I believe improving someone's quality of life is the basic requirement of this role. I'd also hope to make people feel special and valued, and to help them build self-esteem.
