Wentworth Falls Lake is a peaceful lake reserve just off the Great Western Highway in the upper Blue Mountains. The lake was first built to supply water for steam trains. A mostly flat walking loop of about 3.7 km runs around the water, past sandstone sculptures of native seed pods, with plenty of ducks and swamphens along the way. The reserve has a picnic area, free sheltered barbecues, public toilets and a playground, so it suits a relaxed lunch and a gentle walk by the water.

Kiama Blowhole & Harbour
The Kiama Blowhole is one of the South Coast’s best-known natural attractions. When the swell is up, seawater shoots through a gap in the rocks and can spray more than 30 metres into the air. An easy coastal loop of about 2.7 km connects the blowhole with Kiama Lighthouse (built in 1887), the harbour and the fish and chip shops along the waterfront. The area has viewing platforms, public toilets, picnic areas, a kiosk and a visitor centre. It’s best visited when there’s a south-east swell running.

The Pool of Siloam Track starts at Gordon Falls Reserve in Leura and drops into a cool, fern-filled rainforest gully in the Blue Mountains National Park. At the bottom is a small, clear pool fed by a little waterfall. The return walk is only about a kilometre, but it has many sandstone steps, stepping stones across the creek and a steady climb back up. It suits participants who are confident on stairs. The rainforest is lush and quiet, and there’s a picnic area at Gordon Falls Reserve.

COMING UP
Where we’re heading next
A new place each Tuesday. Pick one that suits you and press I’m interested. It opens a short form, and we’ll be in touch to confirm.
If you need something specific
A toilet part-way round, a bench to stop at, somewhere quieter — ask before you commit. We check the spot before we go, so we can usually tell you exactly what's there.
MORE THAN A PROVIDER. A FAMILY.
What to expect
Before I joined WTC, I didn't feel like I had people to call my own. Now I've got a group of mates I can rely on, and our Tuesday trips are the highlight of my week.
What to bring
Comfortable shoes, a hat and a water bottle. That's it.
Our staff come, but it isn't one-to-one
There are staff on every walk. If you need one-to-one support, we can organise your own worker!
All paces
The group splits if it needs to, and staff go with each part. There's no back of the pack.
The walking itself
Easy and mostly flat. Most routes are wheelchair and walker accessible for the majority of the loop — where the surface changes part-way, we say so on the walk's listing above.
MORE THAN A PROVIDER. A FAMILY.
How it works with your plan
Funding category: Core Supports – Assistance with Social, Economic and Community Participation.
Out-of-pocket costs: Your NDIS funding covers your support hours and transport. You’ll just need some pocket money for lunch, a coffee, and any costs that are involved that WTC do not pay for.
