25 August 2026

A wet and wintry day didn't stop us! Umbrellas up, we wandered the historic village of Berrima, browsing homewares and gift shops, a bookshop, and a very tempting lolly shop. A cosy day out exploring one of the Southern Highlands' prettiest villages.

Walking group: Buxton Trail

8 October 2026

Our walking group took on Buxton Trail before heading to the BBQ Grill & Chill. Steep hills, a rocky fire trail and sandy sections made it a challenge, but everyone went at their own pace and encouraged each other the whole way. A great way to start the day before catching up with everyone at the BBQ.

Tuesday outing: Koala Park Sanctuary

8 September 2026

A WILDLY WONDERFUL DAY AT KOALA PARK!
Yesterday, we switched up our usual outing days to accommodate the needs of our participants, and what an amazing day we had!
SW Solange, Rachael and myself took Alex and Chris on a special day trip to Koala Park in Pennant Hills โ€” and there was so much more to see than just koalas!
We got to feed the kangaroos, see some beautiful owls, meet a dingo, and even spotted the emus sitting in a way none of us had seen before!
We also checked out the reptiles โ€” which SW Solange definitely wasn't a fan of!
Meanwhile, Alex was ready to take one home!
Chris's favourites of the day were the owls and koalas, but it was safe to say that the koalas were everyone's favourite!
We were incredibly lucky to have the opportunity to get up close with the koalas and watch them moving around with their little joeys tucked into their pouches. It was such a special experience and definitely a highlight of the day.
Lots of animals, lots of laughs and plenty of wonderful memories made together!
A big thank you to everyone who helped make this such a fantastic outing! Enjoy all these precious photos took to capture the memories.

We mixed things up this week and moved our Walking Group from Thursday to today to accommodate our participants โ€” and what an adventure we had! ๐Ÿ’™
Today we headed to Nattai Creek Circuit in Mittagong, a beautiful natural track we found on AllTrails. ๐ŸŒณ๐Ÿฅพ
This walk had a bit of everything! From rocky terrain and sandy sections to river crossings, bridges, fire trails and wooden stairs, it certainly kept us challenged along the way. ๐Ÿ˜„
๐Ÿšถโ€โ™€๏ธ 70 minutes of walking
๐Ÿ“ Nattai Creek Circuit, Mittagong
๐Ÿ“ 5.2 km completed
It was a challenging but fun adventure, getting out into nature, enjoying the scenery and making the most of the great outdoors! ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ’š
Sometimes the best adventures are the ones that get us outside, moving and exploring!

17 September 2026

Today our Walking Group headed back to Thirlmere Lakes, and it was extra special to welcome a new participant to the group! Chris joined us along with Support Worker Marye, and it was fantastic to see Marye and our new participant getting along so well and enjoying the walk together.
The weather was a little windy today, but there was plenty of shade and coverage from the surrounding trees, which will be fantastic when the warmer weather arrives. We also noticed some great improvements at the location, including new toilet facilities and additional parking areas.
We enjoyed a relaxed walk along the road for just under 45 minutes, taking in the fresh air, scenery and beautiful natural surroundings.
It was a lovely morning of walking, chatting and getting to know someone new, and we look forward to welcoming our new participant back for more Walking Group adventures!

Tuesday outing: Burradoo Park Farm

6 October 2026

What a beautiful morning we had today at Burradoo Park Farm! โ˜€๏ธ๐ŸŒฟ Our new Support Worker Charli joined us for her first outing, and together we took participant Chris out to enjoy everything the farm had to offer.
We spent the morning exploring the beautiful gardens and fields, admiring the colourful flower beds and visiting the greenhouses where fresh produce is grown to be used in the farmโ€™s cafรฉ and restaurant. We also got to see some of the farm animals, including cows, goats and, of course, the pigs! ๐Ÿทโค๏ธ
The pigs were definitely the highlight of the day! There were so many of them together, rolling around in the mud, wrestling, running around and generally causing chaos with their very own pig zoomies! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿท It was hilarious to watch and brought plenty of laughter and joy to our morning.
It was such a lovely morning out and about, enjoying the sunshine, beautiful surroundings and some great company. A wonderful way to spend our Tuesday!

Walking group: Telopea Park

8 October 2026

Yesterday, we brought everyone together for our latest WTC BBQ Grill & Chill, with a change of scenery at Telopea Park in Buxton instead of our usual spot at Picton Botanic Gardens!
We had a fantastic turnout, beautiful sunshine and plenty of laughs throughout the day.
A huge thank you to our wonderful BBQ chefs, Support Worker Alan and participant Russell, who kept the BBQ sizzling and made sure everyone was well fed!
There was plenty happening, with soccer games, handstand competitions and some friendly competition over cornhole. Others made the most of the gorgeous weather by relaxing and soaking up the sunshine on picnic rugs.
One of the best things about our Grill & Chill days is the chance to bring our WTC community together.
It's an opportunity to catch up with participants we haven't seen in a while, welcome new faces, get to know support workers we haven't met before and give our team a chance to connect outside of their usual shifts. These moments of connection are what make days like this so special!
A big thank you to everyone who came along, helped out and made the day such a success.
And just like that, our next BBQ Grill & Chill will be our CHRISTMAS EDITION!
How is it that time of year already?! We can't wait to celebrate with everyone again!
