Rachel

I'm very much a people person — once you get me talking it's hard to stop. But I'm also a great listener.

I am a busy mum of three. I love a picnic in the park, going for walks, going camping and finding new adventures, having a cuppa and a chat. Catching up with friends and family is very important to me. My weekends are normally spent watching my kids play sports and catching up with friends and family. I feel I am a great problem solver.

I have been a support worker for 18 years, with a break in between — I was lucky enough to have eight years at home raising my children. I have my Certificate IV in Disability Support Services and a current First Aid certificate. I have picked up some basic sign language in my years of working. I have always worked in a team environment and believe in a person-centred approach.

I am very much a people person, and once you get me talking it's hard to stop — but I am also a great listener. Knowing that I can make a small difference in someone's day, or put a smile on someone's face, makes my job worthwhile.

I am very happy with where my career is at, and I would love to continue supporting people to help make a difference in their life and make every day task that little bit easier.
