WHAT'S INCLUDED
What you actually get
A walking group every Thursday morning, all paces welcome
Social outings every Tuesday — somewhere different each week
Bigger day trips through the year
Transport can able to be arranged
Support workers on hand if you need one
Come once and see — no commitment, no minimum
What's on, and how to just turn up
This is the part of what we do that doesn't feel like a service.
The Thursday walking group started small and now we have to count twice. It's an easy loop, a chat, and a coffee afterwards. All abilities, all paces — nobody gets left behind and nobody has to keep up. Some people come for the walk. Most come for the coffee.
Tuesday outings go somewhere different each week. Markets, the pictures, lunch out, a drive somewhere with a view. Through the year there are bigger days out too.
If getting there is the problem, say so — transport can usually be arranged, and social and community participation is funded in most plans. If you'd feel better having a support worker with you, that can be arranged too.
The honest pitch: come once. You don't have to sign up to anything, and if it's not for you, that's completely fine. But most people who try it once come back.
